The 2010 tax year was another record breaking year for Franklin County and other counties across central Ohio. Up from 8,000 complaints in 2009, property owners in Franklin County filed over 14,000 real estate tax complaints for the 2010 tax year. An article in the Dispatch on Sunday, April 10, 2011 discusses the numbers for several central Ohio counties. Previously, it took Franklin County about a year to hear tax complaints. Time will tell how the 75% increase will affect timeliness of hearings.
